The Mower County Distinguished Citizens Dinner provides the Twin Valley Council and the citizens of Mower County with the opportunity to honor the leaders around us and to demonstrate to younger generations the qualities great leaders possess, all while raising funds to directly support the Council’s outreach programs. 

The Scouting programs in Mower County, which is part of the Twin Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America, which serves over 1,000 boys and girls in kindergarten through age 20 as well as over 700 youth in our school-based Learning for Life programs.

The Mower County Distinguished Citizen Event will help support in Mower County new and existing Scouting programs, new S.T.E.M. programming for Scouts, training of adult Scouting leaders, Camperships to help send kids to camp, Unit and program support and the Learning for Life outreach programs through local schools.

Ticket prices includes dinner and first drink.  Cash bar available.  Tickets on sale until October 12, 2023.

This national award is designed to recognize those individuals and corporations who have been instrumental in the development of Scouting for rural, urban and suburban youth who often face challenging barriers.  This award recognizes “unsung heroes”, those who do exceptional service for disadvantaged youth.

Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award

 

This award is presented to those who improve students’ lives by proactively modeling and teaching Scouting values.  The award may be presented to teachers, educational support staff, and school administrators who stand out from their professional peers in instilling Scouting values for students.
