Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit and “Of the Year” Awards
Scouting volunteers are the lifeblood of the Scouting program. Without the 559 registered volunteers in the Twin Valley Council we could not serve the over 1,188 youth in the Scouting program. Many of these volunteers give much more than the “hour a week” to ensure a quality Scouting program. Without these volunteers units would not exist, our camps would not function, and activities would be left unplanned.
Help us recognize some of these volunteers by nominating someone today for one of these awards.
Silver Beaver: The Silver Beaver is the highest award a council can give a Scouting volunteer. It is given for outstanding service to youth in Scouting at the council, district, and unit level in addition to other volunteerism in their community. The council is allocated two of these awards annually.
District Award of Merit: The District Award of Merit is the highest award a district (neighborhood) can give a Scouting volunteer. It is given for outstanding service to youth at the district (neighborhood) and unit level. Each neighborhood can award one of these awards annually.
“Of the Year” Awards: These are special Twin Valley Council awards that recognizes a Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Committee Chair/Committee Member, Rookie, and Overall “Volunteer of the Year”.
Silver Beaver nominations are due by the end of the year (12-31-2021).
District Award of Merit and “Of the Year” nominations are due January 31, 2022.
