Klondike 2021
Survival of the “Scoutest”
While your Scout patrol is on an Alaskan adventure through the back country, your chartered plane suffers engine trouble and is forced to land suddenly. Do you have what it takes to survive? Do you have what it takes to work together, to use your Scout skills to make it to the rendezvous point safe and sound?
Saturday, February 6, 2021
Norseland Scout Camp
8am – 3pm
$25 per Scout; $5 per adult
Test your teamwork, survival skills, first aid skills and more in a wilderness adventure designed to challenge even our “seasoned” oldest Scouts. You’ll battle the elements, your memory of lessons learned, and the basic need to survive. This will be a battle only the “Scoutest” of Scouts will win.
This event is structured as a full outdoor event. Everyone attending should dress for the elements. Use your Scout knowledge about fabric, layers, etc. Those who are not dressed properly will not survive and your patrol will be down a member.
For this events Scouts will be placed into patrols of no more than 15 people; with a minimum of 2 adults per patrol. If you have fewer than 5 Scouts you will likely be paired with another patrol. Arrow of Light Scouts (grade 5) are encouraged to participate with Troops during this event.
Everyone will need to list the name of the patrol they wish to participate with. Please be creative when selecting your patrol name. This name will be required information during registration.
A full list of needed supplies will be communicated to unit leaders once finalized. It will include a Klondike sled.
Registration fee includes a custom Klondike winter hat.
Social distancing, masks and Covid-19 safety guidelines will be followed. Lunch will be provided.
