Join us at our Shooting Sports Event for our Cub Scouts! To Cub Scouts, BB Guns, Archery and Sling Shots are the “best things ever”! And we have two weekends and two locations from which to choose!
At this event, Cub Scouts learn proper shooting techniques; including eye dominance, shooting shoulder, breathing, sight alignment, trigger squeeze and follow through. They will learn the importance of safety gear such as glasses, arm guards, and finger tables. And they will have an amazing time working on their skills while target shooting.
Lion Cubs (those in kindergarten) will practice their shooting skills at the BB Gun station using Nerf Guns. Lion Cubs will shoot real arrows at the archery station, and participate in the sling shot station.
All Cub Scouts need to have a signed Parent Permission form at camp. Also, everyone needs to complete parts A&B of the health form to be on Twin Valley camp property.
Friday night optional campouts
If you are attending the event at either location, you may wish to participate in the overnight campout. For an additional $5 per person, Scouts can tent overnight, and have games and activities in the lodge that evening. Of course, the traditional campfire and S’mores will be had as well. Scouts should eat before they arrive at camp between 5:30 – 7p.m. There will be games and activities in the lodge until 8:30 p.m. Campfire and S’mores will begin at 8:30 p.m. Breakfast is served Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m.
Cub Scouts attending Friday night’s campout must be accompanied by a parent.
Shooting Event Schedule; both locations
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. There will be an opening ceremony followed by a safety and equipment briefing. Ranges will open at 9 a.m. with a round robin rotation. You’ll be headed home at noon.
Registration is open until April 24, 2020 for the Norseland event.
For the Cedar Point event, registration is open until May 1, 2020.
