Who says the Fishing merit badge has to be completed during the summer months?  It’s 2020 – A New Year – A New Decade – So let’s do the Fishing merit badge A New Way!

The Mad Bobber Fishing Contest and Twin Valley Council are teaming together to offer Scouts BSA an exciting way to earn the Fishing merit badge – on the ice!

For those Scouts who have already earned this merit badge – you may wish to go through the course again to learn about ice fishing!

Join the fun at Duck Lake Park in Madison Lake, on Saturday, February 1, 2020, beginning at 9 a.m., by learning fishing/ice safety, fishing equipment, and the regulations for game fishing.  All requirements for the merit badge will be taught by the “pros” of ice fishing knowledge.

Once you’ve mastered the details, head onto the ice and become part of the Mad Bobber Ice Fishing Contest.

If you are age 15 or younger, cost to attend this unique opportunity is $5.  For those age 16 and older the cost is $20 (Mad Bobber pricing).  Registration fee covers the merit badge course and entry into the Mad Bobber Fishing Contest.

Registration closes Monday, January 27, 2020.

If you need ice fishing equipment please contact Ray Brauer at the Center for Scouting.  The Council has houses, ice fishing poles, and manual augers to rent.
