Climbing Director

The Climbing Director must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid certificate from the National Camp School Climbing Section of the BSA, and have current certification in CPR. This Director is responsible to the Camp Director through the Program Director, for the safety, personnel, operation and equipment of the COPE course.

Duties include:

  • Plan and manage the climbing/rappelling program.
  • Inspect all equipment daily before use and insure all safety precautions are followed during the running of the course.
  • Keep an accurate maintenance log.
  • Keep area neat and clean.
  • Participate in all staff meetings, sharing ideas for the continual improvement of camp.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Program Director.
