Biography

Family:

Mardell and I have been married for 21 years.  We have four children:  Reagan (17), Anastasia (14), Nicholas (11), and Rebecca (6).  I am an alumnus of the University of Missouri—Columbia with a degree in Fish and Wildlife Management.  Mardell graduated from Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO with a degree in Elementary Education.  Reagan is a Life Scout and active in band, Nick just crossed over into Boy Scouts and enjoys baseball and basketball, Ana is a Venture and active in band, and Becca is a Daisy Girl Scout.  Mardell is a para-pro teacher at Washington Elementary Scouting as a leader.

Hobbies:

My hobbies include hunting and fishing.  Each fall I hunt whitetail deer on our family farm near Cole Camp, MO with my father.  Recently I took up chasing spring turkeys as well.  I have also hunted out west for elk       harvesting a small 6x6.

Our entire family enjoys camping and hiking.  Each summer we take a week-long camping trip and do several day hikes together to see the sights of the area.

Religious Affiliation:

Our family are all members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato.

Scouting Background:

My youth involvement in Scouting took place in Cole Camp, MO and in Sedalia, MO.  I served 14 years on camp staff in the Great Rivers Council in various positions such as ecology director, C.O.P.E. director, program director, and camp director.  I am a Vigil Honor Member in the  Order of the Arrow and have served in several leadership positions including Lodge Chief and Chapter Advisor.  I am also an Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

I have been a professional Scouter for almost 24 years serving the Great Rivers Council headquartered in Columbia, MO, the Crossroads of America Council headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, the Clinton Valley Council headquartered in Pontiac, MI, the Great Lakes Council headquartered in Detroit, MI, the Heart of America Council headquartered in Kansas City, MO, and currently the executive director or the Twin Valley Council headquartered in Mankato, MN.
