Cub Scout Requirement for the Outdoor Ethics Award
Revitalized Outdoor Ethics Award for Cub Scouts
and Cub Scout Leaders
In 2016 the Outdoor Ethics and Action Awards for Cub Scouts and Cub Scout Leaders were retired by National BSA as redundant with the new handbooks. Following this, the Outdoor Ethics Committee received feedback from Cub Scout leaders that this reduced their ability to promote outdoor activities, build character and recognize Cub Scouts who wan to learn more about outdoor stewardship.
It was recognized and agreed that recognition of character building of our youngest members through outdoor ethic awareness is critical. In response the committee obtained support to revitalize the Outdoor Ethic Award for Cub Scouts.
Effective April 1, 2017, the Outdoor Ethics Award is available for all Cub Scouts and Cub Scout leaders to earn. The award requirements can be found by clicking the link below. The emblem can be purchased at the Twin Valley Council Scout Shop and no paperwork is required. The same emblem is used for youth and adults.
