Thin Blue Line Memorial Vehicle

Twin Valley Council to host Thin Blue Line Memorial Vehicle

Twin Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America

is proud to host

The Thin Blue Line Memorial Vehicle

Saturday, November 1, 2014

9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Center for Scouting

810 Madison Avenue

Mankato, MN

Please join us Saturday, November 1, 2014, from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. as we host the Thin Blue Line Memorial Vehicle at our office at 810 Madison Avenue in Mankato.

This event will feature the Thin Blue Memorial Vehicle, founders of the organization; Roger Schroeder and Christine Crittenden, and a brief program beginning at 10 a.m. showing the award nominated video "The Thin Blue Line".  There is no other memorial like this in the United States and we are proud to be able to present it to the Scouting community.

The Thin Blue Line Memorial Vehicle is dedicated to all Minnesota Law Enforcement officers who have lost their life in the line of duty.  In addition to city, sheriff, Minnesota Highway Patrol and DNR officers the Thin Blue Line Memorial Vehicle also memorializes employees of Law Enforcement, such as Corrections Officers or Reserve Officers, who would not otherwise receive recognition.

Whether it be in remembrance or in time of crisis, this organization provides support to the families.  When an in line of duty death occurs, the Thin Blue Line Memorial Vehicle works with LEMA during memorial services.  In the event of an in line of duty injury, this organization is there to offer immediate financial support and assist the family until the officer returns to work.

Remembrance is everything to the survivors.  The Thin Blue Line Memorial Vehicle is a traveling memorial which serves to remind the public of the loss of peace officers in Minnesota.  It attends many parades and community events.  It assists other charitable organizations with fund raising efforts.  It attends memorial services for fallen officers in other states and recently was recognized in Washington D.C. during National Police Week.  All of this is done in a manner that brings dignity to those lost and solace to those who survive.

This event is not a fund raiser.  This is a new charitable organization that we would simply like you to meet.

The core value in Cub Scouts for November is Citizenship.  In Boy Scouts we require the "Citizenship in the Community" merit badge to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.  Scouting and good citizenship go hand and hand.

As a sign of respect for this memorial and as a symbol of good citizenship,

Scouts that attends  (Youth or Adult)

are asked to please be in full Class A uniform.

Please join us for coffee, juice and of course doughnuts!
