What a great time to celebrate being a Cub Scout - the Spring Cup-o-Ree. This year's event has been revamped! A new program, a new location and a new opportunity for you and your family to create memories!
This event begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 13th. Check-in and select your sleeping spot! You can pitch a tent on the grassy area outdoors for a night of camping or simply roll out your sleeping bag on the Field House floor. Your choice!
The pool will be open and fully staffed with life guards from 6 - 8 p.m. Vogel Recreation Center offers a full size pool with slides and climbing wall.
At 8 p.m. Cubs will move to the Field House for floor hockey, relays, basketball and games!
After all this excitement, the Cub will sure to be hungry so head to the party room for Hot Dogs and a POT LUCK snack bar. All participants are asked to bring some type of snack - bars, chips, fruit etc. Along with the food, the party room will also host board games and crafts.
At 9 p.m. it's time to start winding down for the evening. Sleeping arrangements should be set up and tummies should be full so it's time to light the campfire for an enjoyable campfire program.
The evening ends at 9:30 p.m. with a movie and lights out.
Sunday morning everyone is up in time for breakfast at 8 a.m. You can pack up your gear and head home for a great Mother's Day.
Cost for this event is $10 per youth and $5 per adult if you register by May 5, 2017. After that date registration fees are $20 per youth and $10 per adult. Registration on line closes on May 10th. After this date you may still attend but must contact Kara Carlson directly.
Adult Leadership Requirements
Bears and Webelos may have a 1 adult to 4 youth ratio; two deep leadership - but due to the swimming and overnight nature of this event, it is recommended that all Lions, Tigers and Wolves need to have an Akela present. Siblings or friends that are interested in joining Scout are welcome to attend too - with the understanding there will be a parent attending with them. No Cub Scout will be dropped off at this event if they do not have a connection to an adult in attendance.
What To Bring
Each person should bring a swim suit, towel, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, flashlight, water bottle, comfortable play clothes, change of clothes, toiletries, snacks to share at the Potluck Snack Treat Table, a favorite board game, jokes, and skit ideas.
