Personal Fitness

Fitness is the capacity to achieve the best quality of life possible.  Personal Fitness is your individual effort and desire to be the best you can be.  This merit badge class will begin your 12 week journey through the Personal Fitness merit badge.

Personal Fitness is an Eagle required merit badge.

Class size is limited to ten per session.

This class will be offered at 9 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.

Citizenship in the World

We don't live in our own world.  We share the planet with more that six billion people.  And yet most of these people want the same things we want:  good health, personal security, and the freedoms to worship as we please, speak what we think and choose our life styles, and elect our leaders.  This merit badge will help you discover how good a citizen of the world you are and can be.

Citizenship in the World is an Eagle required merit badge.

Class size is limited to 35 Scouts.

This class will be offered at 9 a.m. and will last half the day.

Personal Management

Personal Management is about mapping a plan for your life that will involve setting short-range and long-range goals and investigating different way to reach those goals.  Education, training and experience all help make your goals become a reality.  To achieve your goals, you will choose the best path and make a commitment to it, while remaining flexible enough to deal with changes and new opportunities.  Popcorn sales for each Scout may be used for this merit badge. Please track your sales and bring your information.

Personal Management is an Eagle required merit badge.

Class size is limited to 8 Scouts per session.

This class will be offered at 9 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.

Citizenship in the Nation

Active citizens are aware of and grateful for their liberties and rights.  They participate in their government by voting in elections, attending public hearings, serving on juries, and paying taxes.  They protect freedom, help defend our country, and stand up for individual rights on behalf of all U.S. citizens.  As you fulfill the requirements for this merit badge you will begin thinking about your role as a U.S. citizen and what you can do for your country.

Citizenship in the Nation is an Eagle required merit badge.

Class size is limited to 35 Scouts

This class will be offered at 1 p.m.

Chemistry

Why does baking soda foam and bubble when vinegar is poured on it?  What happens when dry ice vaporizes and makes a spooky fog for a scary movie?  How can charcoal for the outside grill be made of carbon when diamonds are also made of carbon?  Stretch your imagination to envision molecules that cannot be seen - but can be proven exist - and you become a chemist.

Class size is limited to ten Scouts.

This class will be offered at 9 a.m. and will last the entire day.

Theater

If you sign up for this merit badge class, you'll get to sample a little bit of everything the theater has to offer.  Reading scripts, writing a one-act play, stage make-up, set design, lighting - even a little acting (but we promise, no one will have to act in front of a crowd - the acting we do will be on the order of playing a game of Charades).

There will be pre-requirement work of 1) reading 3 different scripts and to write a simple review of each.  2) write a one act play that would take eight minutes to perform.  Please read the Theater Merit Badge Book for more details.  This book will also be required at the class.

Class is limited to 12 Scouts and must have a minimum of 4 to be held.

This class will be offered at 9 a.m. only and is a half day class.

Textiles

Have you ever been miserable at a campout?  Chances are excellent your clothing choices had a LOT to do with the reason why.  Take this merit badge class and you will gain a mastery of the different types of fibers clothing is made out of and the advantages these fibers bring to your life.  Learning about textiles can be surprisingly technical and we promise the projects and lecture will be focused on the modern male wardrobe.  So sign up for this class and find out WHY your favorite shirt is so comfortable!

No pre-requirements for this class but all participants must bring four different t-shirts of various fiber content.  Reading the textile merit badge book is highly recommended.

Class size is limited to 12 Scouts.

This class will be offered at 1 p.m. only and is a half day class.

Family Life

There is no one family style for everyone.  A family's style develops based on each family's individual situation and the values they care about.  One family may be quiet and relaxed while another family may be hurried and active.  In this merit badge class you will discover what makes a family strong.  What really matters in your family and how images from tv and magazines differ from real life.

Family Life is an Eagle required merit badge.

Class size is limited to 10 Scout per session.

This class will be offered at 9 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.

Scouting Heritage

As a Scout, you belong to an organization draped with years of history.   Scouting not only has many different divisions and adventures  (are you missing something?) but it also has a connection to American history.   Discover the history of the past and plans for the tomorrow.

Class size limited to 20 Scouts.

This is a half day class offered at 9 a.m.

Dog Care

The love and interdependence between humans and dogs has endured for thousands of years.      Evidence suggests that dogs and humans started relying on each other thousands of year ago.  Today, dogs are our coworkers and companions.  They assist search and rescue teams, law enforcement officers, hunters, farmers and people with disabilities.  They also play with us and keep us company.

There is a prerequisite for this class of requirements #4, #8 and #9.  Paperwork and photos will be used during the class so please bring them with.

Class size is limited to six Scouts.

This class is offered at 9 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.

Digital Technology

The Digital  Technology merit badge is designed to show the close relationship between humans and the technical world surrounding us.  As we increasingly use digital technology in our everyday world, this relationship extends from the Scout to the digital devices.  We humans must remember that machines are simply an extension of - not a replacement for - the human mind.

Class size is limited to 10 Scouts

This class is offered at 9 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.
