Cedar Point Spring Camp-o-Ree will offer Scouts an opportunity to earn merit badges.  Three different merit badges will be offered at this event along with various team building activities, the Arrow of Light crossover ceremony and Order of the Arrow Tap Out.  This is going to be a fun filled weekend of activity so register now to be sure you don't miss out.

Troops and Crews are responsible for their own meals.

Everyone at this event must have a Health Form with parts A & B completed.

Early Bird cost for this event is $10 per person if registered by April 30th. Regular price of $15 begins May 1, 2018.  Registration closes May 3rd. After May 3rd you may still attend but must register directly with Event Coordinators and pay the $15 per person at the door.

Merit Badges

Scouts will have a choice of three merit badges.  They may either choose Forestry (which is a full day merit badge) or they may choose Traffic Safety (offered Saturday morning) or Robotics (offered Saturday afternoon).  Or they may choose not to do any of the merit badges and have a great time with the team building activities.  The choice is theirs to make.

  • Forestry Merit Badge - all day Saturday and is led by Chad Striemer, Arborist for City of Fairmont.  Please have blue card signed and bring that along with a notebook and pen to the session.
  • Traffic Safety Merit Badge - Saturday morning session from 9am - Noon led by the Martin County Sherriff's Department.  Please have blue card signed and bring that along with a notebook and pen to the session.
  • Robotics Merit Badge - Saturday afternoon session from 1pm - 4pm led by Gary Wyatt and Chris Grussing.  Please have blue card signed and bring that along with a notebook and pen to the session.
Team Building Activities

Scouts are not required to participate in a merit badge session.  Instead they can participate in the team building activities which include

  • Frame Walk
  • Radioactive Pickup Challenge
  • Monkey Bridge
  • Slack Lines
  • Stilt Building and Walking
Arrow of Light Crossover Ceremony

Troops are asked to invite Arrow of Light crossover candidates to participate in the District Crossover Ceremony.  This ceremony is held Friday night beginning at 8 p.m.  If Arrow of Light Scout is just attending the crossover ceremony, there is not a fee.  However, we encourage all Troops to welcome their new crossovers and include them in the weekend's events.

Order of the Arrow Tap Out

The OA Tap Out will be held Saturday night following chapel.  Scouts should wear Class A uniforms.

Friday

  • 6-8 p.m.   Check-in and set-up
  • 8 p.m.      District Crossover Ceremony
  • 9 p.m.      Scoutmaster, SPL, ASPL Cracker Barrel

Saturday

  • 8:30 a.m.     Opening flag ceremony
  • 9am - Noon Merit Badge sessions and Team Activities
  • Noon - 1pm Lunch; provided by units
  • 1-4 p.m.       Merit Badge sessions and Team Activities 
  • 4-7:30 p.m.  Team Activities and Supper
  • 7:30 p.m.     Chapel
  • 8 p.m.          OA Tap Out
  • 9:30 p.m.     OA Cracker Barrel

Sunday

  • 8 a.m.              Closing flag ceremony
  • 8:30 - 10 a.m.  Check-out
