Having a written annual program plan that is tied to a budget is one of the top things your unit can do in order to attract and retain new Scouts.  Thanks to a Central Region grant, the Twin Valley Council will be hosting an Annual Program Planning and Budget Training for unit leaders, unit committee chairs, and charter organization representatives in 4 different locations council wide.  Food will be provided at each location.  The training is free of charge you do need to register for the training.

We will discuss the steps of annual program planning and budgeting including:  Brainstorming meeting, committee approval, youth voting on favorite items, calendar planning, tying that program plan into a budget, and communicating that program plan to your families.  Council 2018-2019 program calendars will be available at these trainings!

New BSA Family Programs:  Fireside Chat

Starting in the fall of 2018, girls have the opportunity to join the Cub Scout program for the first time!  What does this mean for your Pack?  A fireside chat will be held in each district to help answer your questions and to help address  any concerns you may have.

Packs have the option of being male only, female only, or serve the entire family by having both boy dens and girl dens.  In preparation for School Night for Scouting, one of the questions we will be asking your pack is if you will be open to accepting girls into the program.  This will determine our marketing efforts within your area.  This decision needs to be a join effort between your Pack's leadership and your charter partner.
