Building a Strong Troop; 8:15 a.m.

Audience: Adults

This is an interactive class led by a graduate of the BSA National Philmont Training Center's course of the same name.  Class participants will explore the core principles of the scouting program, the life cycles of troops, how to objectively assess the status of troops, and how to use BSA tools, training, and programs to actively build a strong troop.  This is the class that helps adult leaders sift through the programming (high adventure, Venture Patrols, monthly troop meeting planners), the training (Wood Badge, NYLT, NAYLT), and the core principles and methods of scouting (patrol method, good turns, adult mentoring), and allows for tactical and strategic use of these tools and ideas to build a troop that will thrive over time.
