Here's What's Happening In Twin Valley Council!

Things are changing at Norseland Scout Camp!

At the August 16 Board Meeting, the Executive Board of the Twin Valley Council approved the following item that you as unit leadership need to be aware.

The bunk beds at Camp Norseland will be removed this fall and not be available for use by units reserving either the Fireside Lodge or Igloo Lodge (Quonset).  The purpose of this decision was based on the health and safety of our campers.  Specifically, the following issues were of concern:  1.  The upper bunks do not have guard rails on them to prevent Scouts from falling out of bed and onto the concrete floor.  2.  Not having the ability to regularly sanitize the matrasses and to protect against germs, lice, and bedbugs.  As a result, units wishing to rent the buildings will need to make arrangements to bring their own cots, air matrasses, or pads to sleep on.

District Names

After a few long months of discussion, we now have three strong districts in place within Twin Valley Council.  We are excited to announce the new district names and encourage everyone to begin using them.

  • Great Bend District will now be River Stone District
  • North Star and Southern Trails Districts will now be Cedar Valley
  • Sioux Trails District is now Western Prairie
