Trading Post Manager

The Trading Post Manager is responsible to the Business Manager for the operation, materials and equipment used and sold in the Trading Post. The Trading Post manager will operate the Trading Post in such a manner as to insure service and profit.  The Trading Post Manager must be at least 18 years of age.

Duties include:

  • Accurate records and stock control are kept on all goods.
  • Weekly inventory is taken and profit/loss statement completed and submitted to the Business Manager.
  • Necessary supplies are purchased through the Business Manager in advance of need.
  • Definite hours of operation as established by the Camp Director are maintained.
  • Stock is kept neatly arranged and displayed to the best selling advantage.
  • Maintain loan and rental equipment in order and keep accurate records of equipment location and user. If needed assess charges for damage to equipment in consultation with the Business Manager.
  • All merchandise is sold at retail to everyone.
  • Keeps a record of troop charges, having an adult sign for each charge.
  • Takes charge of cash register reports and monies at day’s end.
  • Trading Post and the surrounding areas are to be kept clean and free of litter.
  • When possible, and time permitting, assist other program areas.
  • Participate in all staff meetings sharing ideas for the continuing improvement of the camp program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Manager and /or Camp Director.
