Shooting Sports Director

The Shooting Sports Director is responsible to the Camp Director through the Program Director. This director must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid certificate from the National Camp School Field Sports Section or NRA instructor's certification.  The Shooting Sports Director is responsible for the safety, personnel, program, operation and equipment of the shooting sports program.  They must be knowledgeable in all requirements for related merit badges.

Duties include:

  • Training Shooting Sports staff.
  • Coordinate troop programs with commissioners and provide a well-balanced Shooting Sports program integrated with the general camp program.
  • Keep inventory of all shooting sports equipment, ensure proper storage, and keep equipment clean and in good repair.
  • Ensure that all participants have proper permission slips signed by parent/guardian.
  • Participate in all staff meetings, sharing ideas for the continual improvement of camp program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Program Director.
