Camp Chaplain

The camp Chaplain is responsible to the Camp Director. The Chaplain must be at least 21 years old and hold a current Chaplain Certificate from the National Camp School of the BSA. The Chaplain is responsible for providing spiritual leadership and service to the camp.

Duties include:

  • Hold religious services and observances using camp staff and troop personnel in camp for assistance.
  • Acquaint Scouts and leaders with the religious awards program of the Boy Scouts of America. Keep records of persons interested in pursuing the program further. Write to the clergy of the respective church and inform them of interested Scouts and leaders.
  • Make frequent visits to the health lodge to offer services to the sick, injured and homesick.
  • Strive to assure the Chaplain’s program is well balanced and integrated into the general camp program.
  • At the end of the season submit a final report to the Camp Director.
  • Participate in all staff meetings, sharing ideas for the continual improvement of camp.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director.
