Aquatics Director

The Aquatics Director must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid certificate from the National Camp School Aquatics Section of the BSA. The Aquatics Director must also be currently certified in CPR. The Aquatics Director is responsible to the Camp Director, through the Program Director, for the safety, personnel, program, operation and equipment of the aquatic area.

Duties include:

  • Plan and manage general program of the aquatics area integrating with the total camp program.
  • Determine and apply aquatics area policy as directed by the BSA.
  • Lead and supervise all waterfront personnel.
  • Maintain and account for all equipment and facilities used in the area.
  • Train staff and leaders in aquatics safety.
  • Ensure operation and/or instruction in all aquatic related merit badges and programs.
  • Coordinate program on a troop basis with the help of the Commissioner staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, sharing ideas for improvement of the camp program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Program Director.
